That is more or less what I have said in e-mails yesterday and today to co-workers who called me to tell me something, but I was no help.
It's not that I am blaming myself, but I want to let them know that I am sorry they have to yell over the phone or just resort to e-mail.
They both said no problem, but it is for me.

i am sorry you are deaf as well, but I think email is a reasonable alternative at work. (I like a paper trail even if it is electronic!) I can't wait for August

Well, one was not at a computer and the other was a incident that needed quick attention. But yeah, August! Off all week.
